Benjamin J. Dilley, Sr.

Benjamin J. Dilley, Sr., 83, of Hickory Hills in Moore Township, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg, surrounded by loving family.  He was the husband of Freda I. (Weekley) Dilley.  The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage last September.

Born in Riegelsville, Bucks County, Benjamin was a son of the late John B. Sr. and Mabel E. (Duvall) Dilley, and he attended Frenchtown High School.  He retired in 2010 from Americold Logistics.  Prior to that, Benjamin was employed at Lipton Tea in Flemington, New Jersey for nearly 20 years until the plant closed.  Throughout the years, he served as a roller-skating speed team coach, which was his passion.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Freda, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Dilley of Austin, Texas, and Michael Dilley of Peckville; four grandchildren, Nicole, Michael and Christopher Dilley, and John Brace and wife, Ann; five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Lucas, Everly, Daniel and Xyon; a brother, John “Jack” Dilley and wife, Dorothy, of South Carolina; a sister, Patricia Smith of Tennessee; along with nieces and nephews.

Benjamin was predeceased by a son, Benjamin J. Dilley, Jr.; two grandchildren, Sabrina Brace and Timothy J. Dilley; a daughter-in-law, Brenda L. (Brace) Dilley; a brother, Daniel Dilley; and a sister, Sadie Robbins.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014.  Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Palmer Township.  Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.bensingfuneralhome.net.
