Betty Frey

Betty A. Frey, 84, of Wind Gap, formerly of Bushkill Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was the beloved wife of the late Dale R. Frey with whom she shared 30 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2003. Her first husband of 15 years, Glenwood A. Frey, passed away in 1971.

Born at home in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Betty was a daughter of the late Edwin C. and Irene M. (Correll) Yons. A member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union, she was a talented seamstress and worked at various blouse mills in the region for more than 40 years before retiring in 2002 from the former Anna Sportswear in West Bangor. Betty loved to crochet, embroider, and she always looked forward to going on trips to the casino. More importantly, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she so dearly loved.

Survivors: She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Brenda Schlicher and husband, William, with whom she resided, and Michele Rau and husband, Mike, of Moore Township; sons, Terry Frey of Pen Argyl, and Tim Frey of Bangor; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Transue and husband, Richard, of Tannersville; along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Dale and Glenwood, she was predeceased by a son, Glenn R. Frey, Sr.; and a sister, Sally Keller.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014. Friends and Relatives are invited to call on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Bushkill M.E. Cemetery, Bushkill Township.
