Dale D. "Davy" Biechy, Sr., 81, of Gouldsboro, formerly of Moore Township, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by family on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was the husband of Virginia M. "Ginny" (Simons) Biechy. The couple celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on October 7.
Born in Fountain Hill, Davy was one of 16 children born to Leroy and Helen (Butz) Biechy. He was last employed by Bushkill Township where he worked in the Public Works Department for 15 years retiring in 2006. A true sportsman at heart, Davy enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, and he loved to travel. Over the years, he and Ginny traveled extensively throughout the United States and shared many memorable trips to Canada and Florida. Among one of his most favorite places he loved to visit was "Biechy's Corner" at the annual Wind Gap Bluegrass Festival. Davy was a member of the Point Phillips Rod & Gun Club as well as the Vigilance Hose in Nazareth.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Ginny, he is survived by his two sons, Robert Biechy and partner, Colleen Grover, of Jim Thorpe, and Dale D. Biechy, Jr. and wife, Vanessa, of Moore Township; a granddaughter, Kristilyn Keller and husband, Michael Sr., of Bushkill Township; two great-grandchildren, Briellelyn and Michael Keller, Jr.; a sister, Gladys Wambold of Jonas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Davy was predeceased by nine brothers, Russell, Wilford, Harold, Leonard, Clayton, Richard, Ernest, Lester, and John Biechy; and five sisters, Ethel Pysher, Malvena Beam, Hilda Anthony, Marlene Kocher, and Beatrice Shafer.
Services: Private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., Moorestown - Bath. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net.
