Darlene Setzer

October 1, 1949 — July 8, 2024

Darlene C. Setzer, 74, peacefully passed away in the comfort of her Palmer Township home, surrounded by the loving care and prayers of her family on the evening of Monday, July 8, 2024. A faithful and devoted couple, Darlene and her husband, Leslie D. "Louie" Setzer, shared nearly 15 wonderful years of marriage. They would have celebrated their anniversary on July 24th.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Harold G. and Winifred M. (Hess) Remaly. Darlene was a graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1967. Her compassionate and kind personality was a perfect match for her desire to care for others, which led to a rewarding career as a nurse aide for more than 20 years at Easton Hospital, touching the lives of many. Prior to her illness, Darlene was last employed at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, where she worked in the housekeeping department. Faith and family were most important to her, as she was a life-long member of Bushkill United Methodist Church where she proudly shared her testimony about her relationship with God, enthusiastically sang on the choir, and unselfishly served as a volunteer. Darlene enjoyed Bluegrass music, which was her husband's passion, cruise vacations, and many memorable trips to the beach.

Survivors: In addition to her devoted husband, Louie, she will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her four children, Robert Stack, Jr. and wife, Rachel, of Upper Mt. Bethel Township, Dean Stack and wife, Kate, of Warren Center, PA, Ryan Paff of Palmer Township, and Jennifer Paff of Tatamy; two stepsons, Jamie and Christopher Setzer, both of Wind Gap; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Virgil B. Remaly and wife, Grace, of Lehighton, Harold L. Remaly and wife, Judy, of Moore Township, and Roy R. Remaly and wife, Corinne, of Nazareth; two sisters, Geraldine M. Hannis of Nazareth, and Muriel E. Kresge and husband, Mike, of Bushkill Township; along with many nieces and nephews.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in Bushkill United Methodist Church, 1330 Church Road, Wind Gap, PA 18013. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014, and Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service in the church. Interment will follow in Bushkill M.E. Cemetery.
