Douglas C. Woerner

Douglas C. Woerner, 82, of Lehigh Twp. passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at his residence. He is the husband of Karen K. (Atherholt) Woener. Doug was born in Shoemakersville, PA on Sept. 6, 1941 to the late George & Evelyn (Schaffer) Woerner.  He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Chemical Engineering degree.  Doug worked as a chemical engineer for Tarkett Inc. – Whitehall for 25 years until semi-retirement. He later worked as a chemical engineer at Homasote - Trenton, NJ.  He was an avid music lover, especially Pink Floyd and Queen.

SURVIVORS:

In addition to his wife of 52 years; daughter: Kristine R. Chimics and her husband Kevin of Allentown, PA; brother: Karroll Kershner and his wife Anita of Shoemakersville; sister: Beryl Leckbee of Ocala, FL and Phyllis Kershner and her husband Jim of Boyertown, PA;  grandchildren: Michael and Jason.

SERVICE:

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday November 7, 2023 at the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, LLC -  2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. until time of services. The interment will conclude services at New Hope Cemetery at Little Moore – Danielsville.
