Earle J. Lieberman, 88, passed away peacefully at his residence in Lower Nazareth Township on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. He and his devoted wife, Shirley A. (Schleicher) Lieberman, shared 68 loving years of marriage.
Born in Bethlehem Township, Earle was a son of the late Earl V. and Mabel E. (Hilberg) Lieberman. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. Retiring in 1989, Earle was employed for 32 years at the P.B.&N.E. (Philadelphia Bethlehem and New England) Railroad where he was an engineer. He also worked part-time for 23 years at the former Nazareth Tool & Supply. Throughout the years, Earle enjoyed woodworking and was a former member of the Lower Nazareth Lions Club. Currently worshiping at Dryland United Church of Christ, Earle and Shirley were longtime members of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Nazareth.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Shirley, he will be missed by sons, Jeffrey Lieberman and partner, Laura Jones, of Walnutport, and Bret Lieberman and wife, Michele, of Lititz; five grandchildren, Shea, Megan, Luke, Brock, and Chase; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Earle was predeceased by his siblings: two brothers, Norman and Victor Lieberman; and six sisters, Viola Neff, Eva Gallagher, Orpha Ockenhouse, Fern Reeser, Ida Smith, and Elda Haydt.
Services: A Celebration of Life, with Military Honors, will be held on Saturday, November 04, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in Dryland United Church of Christ, 4415 Newburg Road, Nazareth, PA 18064. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday morning from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the church. Immediately following the Celebration of Life, all are invited to join the family for refreshment, fellowship, and a continued remembrance of Earle’s life in the fellowship hall. Placement of Earle’s cremated remains in columbarium at Northampton Memorial Shrine Cemetery in Palmer Township will be held privately with family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
