Elma M. Werkheiser, 79, of Nazareth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Alexandria Manor - Bath. She was the beloved wife of the late James Werkheiser. Elma was born in Palmerton, PA the daughter of the late Henry Snyder and Elsie (Rau) Snyder.
Elma was a caring and compassionate soul, known for her love of family, friends, and nature. Elma will be remembered for her unwavering love for those around her. She found joy in the simple things in life and cherished spending time with her family and friends. Along with her husband, she enjoyed spending time at their property in Sullivan County, PA. Elma had a strong faith and attended the Redeemer Bible Church in Dushore, PA. She also enjoyed gardening, watching football & baseball and watching her grandchildren play sports, which brought her immense happiness. Elma had a special place in her heart for animals, the beauty of spring, the blossoming dogwood and magnolia trees. Elma wished to be loved and remembered as a wonderful person, wife, mother, grandmother and human being.
Survivors: She will be missed by her children: Edward Werkheiser and his wife Nicole of Moore Twp., Kenneth Werkheiser and his wife Marisa of Lower Nazareth Twp., Wendy Corrigan of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Mason, Hunter, Quinn, Jacob and Trevor; brothers: John Snyder and his wife Marion of Bath, David Snyder and his wife Betty of Kunkletown, Thomas Snyder of Kunkletown, Henry Snyder and his wife Bonnie of Kunkletown; sisters:, Barbara Green, of Trachsville and Marguerite Daransky of SC. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by siblings Louise Green and Christine Snyder.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM in GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014. Friends and Relatives are invited to call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will conclude services at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.
