Frank J. Wunderler, 85, of Bath, quietly passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Northampton Post Acute in Bethlehem Township. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Frank A. “Peggy” and Stella (Hersh) Wunderler.
Frank was the beloved husband of the late Mildred I. (Welty) Wunderler to whom he was married 37 years until her passing 2003. A 1956 graduate of Liberty High School, Frank honorably served in the United States Army. For most of his professional work career, Frank was a truck driver and was employed at the former Matlack Trucking Co., Northampton, for many years, and MTS (Material Transport Services). He was a life member of the East Bath Rod & Gun Club, the NRA, and he was also a former member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Bath. Active in his community, Frank proudly served the Borough of Bath as a volunteer firefighter for 22 years and as a police officer for six years. Passionate about racing, he was a car enthusiast and a member of the Aristocrats, a car club which met at the Ritz Barbecue in Allentown.
Survivors: Frank is survived by a sister, Estelle A. Paul of Northampton; a brother, Donald L. Wunderler, Sr. of Bath; nieces and nephews; and former wife, Gloria L. (Werley) Wunderler of Moore Township. In addition to his wife, Mildred, he was predeceased by a sister, Eileen M. Quinter.
Services: A Graveside Funeral Service will be held privately with the family at Hope Cemetery in Hecktown. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of theGEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
