Frederick H. Wolfe, Jr., 74, of Plainfield Township, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus in Bethlehem Township on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, after fighting valiantly against cancer. He was the loving husband of Janie A. (Trumbower) Wolfe to whom he was married 18 years.
Born in Philadelphia, Fred was a son of the late Frederick H. Wolfe, Sr. and Jean C. (Hartman) Van Santen. He was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1966, and West Virginia Institute of Technology where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Fred honorably served in the United States National Guard during the Vietnam era, prior to embarking on a career in arboriculture, which spanned more than 40 years. Often described as a hardworking man, Fred owned and operated Easton Tree Service until his recent retirement so he could spend time with his grandchildren whom he so dearly loved. Fred was a faithful member of El Shaddai Assembly of God Church, Nazareth.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Janie, he will be dearly missed by his daughter, Dawn Schulze and husband, Phillip, of Hellertown; stepson, Rod Kessler and wife, Blaire, of Raleigh, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Dylan, Quinten, and Emery; a brother, Charles S. Wolfe and wife, Carol, of Conroe, Texas; three sisters, Louise A. Harris and husband, Dennis, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Donna W. Peterson and husband, John, of Jamestown, North Carolina, and Jeanne A. Malone and husband, John, of High Point, North Carolina; stepfather, Henry G. Van Santen of Upper Nazareth Township; his loyal pet dog, Max; along with many nieces and nephews.
Services: A Memorial Service in celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 1:30 P.M. in El Shaddai Assembly of God Church, 585 Rose Inn Avenue, Nazareth, PA 18064. There will be no calling hours. Immediately following the service, all are welcome to join the family for a time of refreshment and fellowship in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service at Northampton Memorial Shrine Cemetery in Palmer Township was held privately with the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
