Georgene M. (Bartek) Lerch

Georgene M. Lerch, beloved mother, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the age of 73. She is the wife of the late Kenneth H. Lerch, Jr. who passed away in 2006. Born on May 25, 1950, in Fountain Hill, Pennsylvania, Georgene was the cherished daughter of George R. and Esther (Frey) Bartek, both of whom have passed away.

Georgene led a fulfilling life and touched the lives of many throughout her journey. She worked as a dedicated meat and seafood manager at the former Lanco. Outside of work, Georgene found joy in attending her grandson's sporting events, finding comfort in the atmosphere of the game and proudly cheering him on. She also had a profound love for her dogs, who were constant companions offering her unconditional love and companionship. An avid shopper, Georgene always had a knack for finding the best deals and enjoyed indulging in retail therapy.

Georgene is survived by her loving son, Joseph Lerch, and his wife Angela of Wind Gap. She adored her role as a mother and grandmother and was immensely proud of her grandson, Lucas. Georgene was also a cherished sister and is predeceased by her brother, Robert Bartek.

A funeral service to celebrate Georgene's life will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC., located at 2165 Community Drive in Bath, Pennsylvania (18014). Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 5 p.m. until time of services. Graveside services will be held privately at Belfast Union Cemetery.

Georgene will always be remembered for her kind-hearted nature, her strong spirit, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, and her legacy will continue to inspire us to embrace life to the fullest, just as she did.
