Janet M. (Solt) Gunderman

Janet M. Gunderman, 80, of Plainfield Township, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Lower SauconTownship on Tuesday, September 05, 2023.  She was the wife of Kenneth E. Gunderman.  Janet and Ken would have celebrated 44 years of marriage on December 29th.  Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late William Solt and Josephine (Lance) Solt Hulbert.  Janet attended Phillipsburg High School.  A seamstress in the garment industry for several years, she cherished and preferred the role of being a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.  Janet loved crafts and enjoyed painting eggs as well as gardening.  She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Blairstown.

Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Ken, she will be dearly missed by her daughters, Tracy Goetz of Walnutport, and Dana Compano of Northampton; son, Dominic Compano, III of Emmaus; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Housel and husband, James, of Phillipsburg, NJ; along with nieces and nephews.  Janet was predeceased by a sister, Patricia A. Thornton.

Services: A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced at a later time.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014.
