Joseph Lukachik was born as Josef Lukaczyk on January 17, 1946 in Heppenheim, Germany to Andrew and Rose Lukachik. Joe passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 17, 2024 at the age of 78.

Joe graduated in 1966 from the New York State Ranger School with a degree in Forestry. He later went on to graduate from Syracuse University in 1978 earning a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a Civil Engineer for Niagara Mohawk and then later in life as a professional truck driver for several commercial outfits.

Joe will be remembered for his strong love of nature and his ability to identify any tree by its leaf pattern. He loved camping and fishing and was a longtime member of the Point Phillips Rod and Gun Club. He was very handy and took pride in fixing things around the house. In his youth, he enjoyed target shooting and hunting, winning several awards as a sharpshooter. Joe served as an Air Delivery Specialist in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his sister, Anna of Middle Village, New York and his children Allison and Jeremy (Guinn) of Wallingford, PA, Joseph and Calleen of Whitehall, Sara and Steve of Stroudsburg and Dmytro of Laurys Station, and also his four grandchildren, Evangeline, Beckett, Elijah and Kamryn. He was predeceased by his loving parents.
