Miriam E. Dixon, 87, of Palmerton, PA passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Collis Dixon to whom she was married for 56 years before his passing in 2015. Born in Boothwyn, Delaware County. Miriam was a daughter of the late Norman and Blanche Reside (Woodling). She was a 1955 graduate of Media H.S. and also a graduate of Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown where she earned a diploma in Bible Studies.
Miriam was a dedicated owner/operator of Dixon's Cleaning Services, where she worked tirelessly until her retirement in 2009. Prior to that, she lent her skills as a sewing machine operator for Deville Blouse Co. in Danielsville.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Miriam was a nurturing foster parent alongside her husband, touching the lives of many children with her kindness and compassion. She recently attended Blue Mountain Community Church in Palmerton; and in her earlier years, served as the Christian Youth Crusaders director at Bethany Wesleyan Church, and aided in a variety of ministries at the former Zion Wesleyan Church, showcasing her commitment to her faith and community.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and foster parent, Miriam's presence will forever be cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Miriam will be lovingly remembered by sons: Steven Dixon and his wife Jackie of Phillipsburg, PA, Kenneth Dixon and his wife Leslie of Little Gap, PA, Stanley Dixon and his wife Lisa of Kunkletown and Kurt Dixon and his wife Amy of Walnutport; daughters: Victoria Dixon of Kunkletown, Theresa Kunkle and her husband John of Palmerton and Nancy Beers and her husband William of Moore Township; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; sister: Martha Clendaniel of Batavia, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother: John Reside; sisters: Ruth Engrem, Mary Potak, Naomi Reside, and Helen Wilson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Blue Mountain Community Church - 25 Oak St, Palmerton, PA 18071. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00AM. Interment at Covenant United Methodist Church Cemetery will be held privately. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net.
