M. Virginia Huneke (Dittmar)

December 29, 1928- January 18, 2024

M. Virginia Huneke 95, of Bath, Pennsylvania, formerly Elizaville, NY, passed away peacefully at Northampton Sub Acute Care. Virginia is survived by her daughters Sandra (Ken) Schwarz and Pat (Jeff) Keeley; her grandsons, Clinton Keeley, Justin Keeley and Mark Schwarz, her sisters Alice Martin and Sally Montfort and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Al and brothers Radcliff, Jim and Peter Dittmar.

Virginia was born December 29, 1928 at home in Rhinebeck, NY. She graduated from Rhinebeck High School and Westchester School of Nursing, Grasslands, currently Westchester County Medical Center. She accompanied her husband on various assignments while he served in the US Army. After Al retired from the Army, Virginia accepted a position at Northern Dutchess Hospital serving in various positions in nursing management for 26 years. After retiring, she served as a Northern Dutchess Auxiliary volunteer for over 25 years.

Virginia was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church of Rock City where she served a term on the Church Council. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Rock City Cemetery Association.

At Virginia’s request, services will be at the convenience of the family.
