Shirley M. (Beers) Marsh

Shirley M. Marsh, 82, of Walnutport, formerly of Seemsvile, passed away peacefully while surrounded by loving family on Monday, September 18, 2023.  Born in Moore Township, she was a daughter of the late Walter F. Sr. and Marion A. (Hoch) Beers.  Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Mark J. Marsh to whom she was married 62 years prior to his passing in 2021. After graduating from Northampton High School, she attended and successfully completed a practical nursing training education program to become a licensed practical nurse.  Shirley was employed by the County of Northampton at Gracedale and Cedarbrook, before retiring as a charge nurse from the former Leader Nursing Home in Bethlehem.  Additionally, Shirley and Mark were proprietors of the Seemsville Hotel from 1984 to 1993.  A talented artist, she enjoyed drawing and painting in multiple art mediums, and was an exceptionally good cook.

Survivors: Shirley will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughters, Marion H. Marsh ofWalnutport, and Michelle “Mitzi” Marsh of Emanuelsville; sons, Mark J. Marsh, II and wife, Lori, of Walnutport, and Michael S. Marsh and wife, Ronda, of Evansville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Damien, Jarrad Sean, Ciara, Hunter, Logan, and Hal; eightgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Walter F. “Butch”Beers, Jr. and wife, Darlene, of North Carolina; a sister, Judy M. Thomas of North Carolina; nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, Mark, she was predeceased by two sisters, Cynthia E. Wieand and Dorothy A. Davidson.

Services: We are honored to celebrate the lives of both Shirley and Mark with a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014.  Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.
