Shirley L. (Milburn) Thatcher

Shirley L. Thatcher, 88, of Bath, formerly of Nazareth and Alpha, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice, Allentown.  She was the beloved wife of the late husband Harvey S. “Snooks” Thatcher, with whom she shared 23 years of marriage prior to his death in 2012.

Born in Tatamy, Shirley was a daughter of the late Lewis V. and Mary (Young) Milburn.  She was a graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1953.  Shirley retired from Harvel Plastics, Inc. in Forks Township, where she was employed for more than 20 years.  She was a member Forks United Church of Christ and East Lawn Social Club.  Shirley enjoyed watching old television game shows and was always willing to try her luck on the slot machines.  In retirement, Shirley and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and Las Vegas.

Survivors: She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen Reinert and husband, Harold, of Auburn, PA; five grandchildren, Heather Ronan and husband, Keith, Jarrod Reinert and wife, Kristy, Jeremy Reinert, Stephanie Bowman, and Kip Bowman, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Isabella, Finnegan, Alyssa, Warren, Emma, Lillian, and Isabella; and a great-great-grandson, Oliver.

In addition to her husband, Harvey, she was predeceased by former husband, Robert Bowman; son, Kip Bowman, Sr.; and sister, Barbara Milburn.

Services: A Memorial Service in celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014.  Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Interment will follow in Forks Church Cemetery, Stockertown.
