Stephen P. Rupert, Sr.

Stephen P. Rupert, Sr., 69, formerly of Slatington, passed away peacefully at his home in Bethlehem Township while surrounded by loving family on Sunday, March 31, 2024.  He was the husband of Patti L. (Behler) Rupert to whom he was married 48 years.

Born in Fountain Hill, Stephen was a son of the late Clinton A. Rupert and Shirley L. (Wanamaker) Green, and stepson of the late Kenneth Green.  He attended Slatington High School.  Stephen worked as a forklift mechanic at Arbor Material Handling (Raymond) in Fogelsville, before retiring in 2014 due to health concerns.  He was previously employed at the former Stanwood Mills in Slatington, where he worked in the entering department for nearly 25 years until they closed.  A member of the Slatington Vigilant Fire Co. and Roosevelt Democratic Club in Danielsville, Stephen was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a railroad train hobbyist, which was his passion.  He was also a car enthusiast that enjoyed collecting and working on Ford Mustang cars throughout the years.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Patti, he will be deeply missed by his daughter, Kristy Fogel, with whom he and Patti resided; son, Stephen P. Rupert, Jr. and wife, of Mahoning Township; two grandsons, Dylan Fogel and wife, Jennifer McMaster, of Moore Township, and Nathan Fogel of Bethlehem Township; a great-grandson, Brayden; two sisters, Myrle Pugh and husband, David, of Pasadena, Maryland, and Carol Haydt of Danielsville; along with many nieces and nephews.

Stephen was predeceased by two brothers, Clinton “Butch” and Rodney Rupert; and a son-in-law, Thomas Fogel.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 06, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014.  Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday morning from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.  Interment will be private.
