Velma A. Buskirk, 81, of Slatington, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at her son's residence in Lower Milford Twp. She was born on October 15, 1942, in Stockertown, PA, to her late parents, Raymond and Lillian (Williamson) Reeser. Velma had a fulfilling career, she worked as a sewing machine operator for Vinnie Blouse. She also worked at the former Artistic Glass Products in Trumbauersville.
Velma was an enthusiastic fan of Elvis Presley, and delighted in attending performances by various Elvis impersonators, with Ryan Pelton being her favorite. She had a fondness for collecting tchotchkes, especially those of special glass and knick-knacks. Velma also found joy in square dancing and had a deep love for horses.
She is survived by her beloved companion of many years, Wayne Warmkessel of Slatington; her sons: Mark D. Fogel and his wife Lori of Wilson Boro, Mardi W. Fogel and his wife Robin of Lower Milford Twp. and Stanley C. Fogel and his wife Jamie of Northampton. Velma will also be greatly missed by her siblings: Donald S. Reeser & his wife Karen of Forks Twp., Marion Van Horn & her husband Larry of Mt. Bethel and Naomi A. Trout of Wind Gap. She leaves behind a cherished legacy with her grandchildren: Heather, Jacob, Amanda, Katie, Zachary, Ben, Vanessa, and Mikayla, as well as her great-grandchildren: Emma, Cole, Ethan, Hailey, Carter, and Sophie; beloved niece: Ryleigh Jones and many other nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her siblings: Ruth Ann Jones, Llewellyn Reeser, Allen Reeser, Marvin Reeser, and Raymond Williamson, as well as her granddaughter, Ashley Dronenberg.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024 at GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC. located at 2165 Community Drive in Bath, 18014. A calling hour will be held at 10 a.m. until time of services. Services will conclude with entombment at the Northampton Memorial Shrine - Easton
