Michael Vetovitz Obituary

Michael G Vetovitz, 81 of Moore Township, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 18, 2024.  He was the husband of the late Elaine Tomek Vetovitz.  Born in Fountain Hill to the late Stanley and Anna (Temos) Vetovitz.

Mike was the former owner of the Slate Exchange Hotel, Bath, from 1975 – 1990.  He retired from the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. in 1995 after 29 years of employment.

Mike was a member of the ASA (Army Security Agency) serving in the Middle East and Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.  He was a 48 + year member of the American Legion Post 470, Bath.

Mike was an avid football and baseball fan, having played football for Al Erdosy and baseball for Mike Lisetski at Northampton High School, graduating in 1960.

Mike enjoyed every summer in Wildwood and Cape May, NJ with his family and entering his corvette in boardwalk car shows.

He was a kind and private man who loved Elaine and his family.  Mike is honored  and loved as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend who could always tell a story like no other about his adventurous and well-lived life. …

He was a member Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Bath, PA.

Survivors:  son, Michael Aversa and wife Carol, of Bath, PA; daughter, Michelle Frable and husband Phillip of Nazareth, PA; grandchildren, Allison Wright and husband Nathan of Nazareth, PA; Haley Malile and husband Captain Julian Malile, US Army, of Columbia, SC; Ryan Frable of Nazareth PA; Cameron Frable of Nazareth PA.  He is also survived by his brother, Stanley Vetovitz and wife, Judy of Louisville, KY along with niece Michelle Roe and husband Lance and family.

Services:  Friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday evening, April 24, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 210 Northampton Street, Bath, PA 18014.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.  Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at bensingfuneralhome.net.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
